Monday, 16th January 2022 – ATHLONE: Educational and Social event

Hosted by Neil Warner

On Monday January 16th in the Hudson bay Hotel Athlone from 2 – 5.30pm, we are hosting a gathering that is both educational and social. We will be featuring three short presentations and following up with a social get-together with finger food.

The idea of the presentation is to give you an insight into the approach and success of a number of our colleagues. From the presentations, you will understand how they have got to where they are and the journey they took to get there. You will hear of their successes and failures and gain inspiration to help you extend your possibilities and develop your business in perhaps ways that you have not yet explored.

Paul O’Connell

Paul has recently achieved the AIPPVA qualification for his wonderful architectural photography. Paul will bring you on the journey that led him to achieve his associateship of the IPPVA. It will tell you of the inspiration that led him to prepare for his qualification. Paul will also tell you of the journey in approaching the qualification and the help and assistance he received in the process. For a photographer of his standing the value of the qualification brings him to the level of professionalism he encounters with architecture. His approach when he meets a new building and how he delves into the soul and values that he sees before him. It’s a story that will entertain and inspire you.

Claire O’Rorke

“I love photography, and working as a photographer (seems to me anyway) to be pretty much the best job in the world. Through the various types of work I do I meet people from all walks of life. It certainly never gets boring”

Claire is a people person, her practice includes portraiture and weddings. She is chair of the IPPVA National awards and as such of the successful images within the national awards pass through her hands. For wedding photographers particularly, she will guide you through common successes and failures in the pursuit of national awards. She will guide you through the judging process and help you achieve greater success with the awards.

Her commonsense approach applies equally to her approach to business and the development particularly of her wedding business. She has a fund of knowledge she is pleased to share with colleagues.

The event closes off the holiday season and will start the New Year with new knowledge and enthusiasm.

It’s a social event.

After our presentations, there will be an opportunity to meet your colleagues probably for the first time since the covid restrictions. Finger food and light refreshments will be presented.
