Summer Round Award results for the Irish Professional Photographer & Videographer of the Year Awards 2024. Congratulations to the talented winners who captured these beautiful images. With 49 submissions, only the best 13 photos were chosen to receive an Award.
A great reportage image is a product of:
*Storytelling**: The photographer should be able to tell a compelling and coherent story through their images.
*Timing**: Capturing decisive moments that convey the essence of the story being told is crucial.
*Observational Skills**: Being able to anticipate and capture candid moments and interactions without disrupting the scene is important.
*Technical Proficiency**: Understanding camera settings, lighting conditions, and composition techniques to create visually engaging images.
*Emotional Connection**: Developing empathy and connecting with the subjects to evoke emotions in the viewer.
*Ethical Consideration**: Respecting the subjects and portraying them truthfully and ethically in the context of the story.
*Adaptability**: Being able to work in various environments and situations to document events authentically.
